Mancini claims no Tevez news

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed there have been no fresh approaches for want-away striker Carlos Tevez.

The Argentinian star is set to return to City's Carrington training ground on Monday after a proposed return to Brazilian side Corinthians fell through.

It was initially claimed that Tevez would be back in England on 4th August but Mancini insisted the 27-year-old was always set to report back after Sunday's Community Shield clash with local rivals United.

Although Tevez has also been linked with a swap move involving Inter Milan's Brazilian right-back Maicon, Mancini claims he is set to start the Premier League season with the Blues.

"Carlos comes back Monday, because he had 21 days off after the Copa America," he told Sky Sports News. "That was the agreement with him.

"Carlos is a City player. At the moment we don't have any news about other teams, so Carlos will play for Manchester City."

Like Tevez, Mario Balotelli has also expressed his discontent with life in lottery
